Autograph letter signed, dated : Salzbrunn, 8 August 1830, to C[arl] Banck in Magdeburg, 1830 Aug. 8.

Sending two letters of introduction, one for the music publisher Tucher in Nuremberg, one for R. Schnor in Munich, asking Banck to greet [in Rome] the sculptor Thorwaldsen, Wolff, and the Abbate Santini, giving him two precepts: music should appeal to the head as well as to the heart, and a musician must have the manual dexterity to express his ideas; discussing the difference between old and new church music, etc.
